By Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) in Muradiye district a petrol search operation is being carried out. In the region where gendarmerie and security guards are on duty day and night, 100 personnel and 30 work machines are trying to prepare the area where drilling will take place.

Oil exploration activities in Van's Muradiye district created excitement. Local residents are also waiting for the good news from the area where the oil drilling rig is planned to be established by November. AK Party Van Deputy Kayhan Türkmenoğlu and Muradiye District Governor Melih Aydoğan, who inspected the area where the work was carried out, received information from Mining Technical Exploration Eastern Anatolia Regional Manager Çetin Kartal, District Gendarmerie Commander Senior Lieutenant Nurullah Çatal and company officials.

Türkmenoğlu said that they aim to bring the underground resources in the region into the economy. Stating that TPAO received the drilling license with the permission of the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Türkmenoğlu said:

"There is a feverish work going on in the region. Concrete pouring, road and ground works have been carried out. We know that the people living here in the late 1800s and early 1900s extracted 2 thousand liters of oil a day. We have that the Russians who came here in 1915 used the well they dug to meet the fuel needs of their vehicles." "There are documents proving that it meets the needs. Our relevant institutions have started work in the light of these documents. Today, oil is being extracted in the Gabar, Cudi and Kato mountains. We have taken the first step here. A 200-ton tower will be erected here in November and will go down to a depth of 1500 meters."

Stating that they aim to give good news from the region, Türkmenoğlu said, "All our citizens are experiencing the excitement of oil exploration and extraction. It is a fact that there is oil in the region. We will continue our work by going deeper. Our Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has important studies in the fields of natural gas, energy and oil." he said.

District Governor Aydoğan expressed their satisfaction with the work carried out by TPAO in the region.
